The Ambition Auction at the Emirates stadium on Monday 8 November, 2010, raised £140,000 for Ambitious about Autism. The auction was held in partnership with TalkTalk and brought the total amount raised by TalkTalk for Ambitious about Autism over the last nine years to £1 million.
The £1 million pound milestone was celebrated with an impromptu performance by one of the guests, Tony Hadley, who performed ‘Gold’ to an appreciative crowd.
The auctioneer at the event was Nick Bonham and other distinguished guests included Charles Dunstone, the Chairman of TalkTalk, Dido Harding, CEO of TalkTalk and the author, Nick Hornby, who is also one of the founding parents of TreeHouse School in North London which educates children and young people with autism.
A bidding frenzy ensued for the lots with extraordinary amounts being bid for VIP tickets to the X Factor Final in December and a week’s all expenses paid safari holiday in Kenya.
