Ambitious about Autism, and Peach have reluctantly decided to postpone our planned conference 'Autism Provision in a Changing Environment'. We started planning this day many months ago during the consultation period of the government’s Green Paper on SEN and Disability 'Support and aspiration: A new approach special education needs and disability'. The proposals will have clear implications for parents and our aim was to bring together a range of experts from autism education procurement and provision; advocacy and brokerage to sign post parents to the range of options available to them in light of any agreed changes. We had anticipated that the Government response to that consultation would be published early this year.
The Government however have delayed the publication of the SEN and Disability Green Paper ‘Next steps’ document again, and it is now very unlikely to be published before the 3rd March. We are therefore not in a position to discuss the latest changes to the SEN and disability system. Accordingly we have decided to postpone this event and to review the timing in light of any further updates from the Department for Education.
We would like to apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience that this may cause. We will however continue to take contact details from anyone wishing to register for the event and will advise a rescheduled date as soon as possible.
