Autism Education Trust training programme for schools

Tutor and pupil

Autism Education Trust and Department for Educatiion logosWe are the designated training hub for schools in London for a programme of face-to-face training developed by the Autism Education Trust (AET) with support from the Department for Education. The training is aimed at practitioners working in mainstream or special schools, as well as those working in specialist settings for children from the ages of 5–16 years.

Autism Education Trust training can be delivered in your school on a date and at a time that is convenient for you or you can book to attend a course at our training venue in Muswell Hill, north London.

The training programme is split in to three levels:

Level 1 — For all staff who need an understanding of autism

A 90-minute basic autism awareness training course suitable for teaching and non-teaching staff who need an understanding of autism in their role including office staff, governors, caretakers, lunchtime supervisors, drivers and escorts. This course is ideal for INSET days or as a twilight session at the end of the school day.

£125 per day if delivered at your school for a group of staff (no maximum number).

£30 per person if you attend a course at our training venue in Muswell Hill, north London:

  • 8 July 2014, 4–6pm

Since doing this course I have been able to enhance my knowledge and understanding of autism. Before I lacked confidence because I felt I wasn’t knowledgeable, and did not understand...But because of this training I feel more confident.

This session was fantastic. I have learnt so much and feel so much more confident in my awareness to include students with autism in my class. Thank you!

I feel more equipped to lead the support and provision for children with autism in my school. I have lots of ideas of what I would like to do to do this effectively.
