Autism Awareness

With autism affecting as many as 1 in of every 100 individuals, all professionals working in health, education or welfare services need to have a basic understanding of the condition and its impact on an individual. This course provides the autism awareness training required for local councils and local NHS bodies to provide for all staff, following statutory guidance (December 2010). 

Attendees will benefit from increased awareness of the condition and will learn simple strategies for supporting individuals with autism they come into contact with in their professional capacity.

Learning objectives:

  • Introduction to autism and the triad of impairments
  • Understand the impact of autism on the individual

Times:

The course runs from 9.30am until 12.30pm, with coffee and registration at 9am.
