Effectively implemented strategies for behaviour management are essential within schools, residential homes, play schemes and other settings, to create an environment in which individuals can thrive. In this two-day course professionals will learn how to develop highly-individualised behaviour plans based on evidence-based assessment, and how to plan and monitor interventions to ensure success.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand what is meant by ‘challenging behaviour'
  • Explore why children and young people with autism may exhibit challenging behaviour
  • Introduce the concept of function-based assessment and function-based intervention
  • Explore evidence based assessment and intervention for challenging behaviour

Times:

This two-day course runs from 10am until 4pm each day, with coffee and registration at 9.30am.

  • Professionals: £280 (£220 if booked by 17 January 2012)
