Night of Ambition raises over £200K
Ambitious about Autism held its Night of Ambition auction event on 10 November 2011. Taking place at Altitude 360 Black on the 28th floor of London’s Millbank Tower, the event proved a tremendous success, generating over £212,000 for children and young people with autism.
Tables sold out months before the event took place and the guest list included names such as Richard Desmond, Sally and John Bercow (Parent Patrons of Ambitious about Autism), Justin King CBE, Nick Hornby, Donna Air and Paddy Doherty, winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2011.
Guests bid on a number of exciting auction lots which included:
- The chance to be an extra on Mike Newell’s forthcoming film ‘Great Expectations’
- To meet and be taken for a spin by McLaren Mercedes F1 star, Jenson Button
- Tickets for The X Factor Live Final
- A guided visit to Abbey Road Studios by Giles Martin, son of The Beatles producer George Martin
Jolanta Lasota, Chief Executive of Ambitious about Autism, said: “We are delighted that so many of our supporters and friends were able to join us for our Night of Ambition. The event has been a real success and raised a significant amount of money for children and young people with autism. We are really grateful to TalkTalk Group for supporting the event and to all of the donors of the auction lots and the very generous bidders.”
