Announcing the new Chair of our Board of Trustees
We are delighted to announce that Robert Bishop is to become the new Chair of the Board of Trustees of Ambitious about Autism, including its Schools Trust.
Bob is a partner at global law firm DLA Piper, having chaired the firm’s international corporate practice from 2015 to 2022. He has lived experience of autism and has been actively engaged in various aspects of the work of Ambitious about Autism for a number of years.
Bob will join Ambitious about Autism’s Board of Trustees in November 2024 and will become the Chair at the end of December, after Neil Goulden retires.
Commenting on his appointment, Bob Bishop said:
I’m delighted to be appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees as the charity continues to grow its reach and impact at such a critical time.
As a father to three wonderful neurodivergent daughters, I have a deep personal connection with Ambitious about Autism’s life-changing work.
The charity has an ambitious vision to support autistic children and young people in all aspects of their lives, from education to employment, health, family and community. I’m thrilled to be part of this vital work.
Jolanta Lasota, Chief Executive of Ambitious about Autism, said:
We are delighted that Bob Bishop will become our next Chair of our Board of Trustees.
He brings with him a wealth of experience, personal connections and a strategic mindset, all of which will be invaluable as we look to the future and deliver our Time for Ambition strategy.
I would also like to say a huge thank you to our outgoing Chair Neil Goulden for his many years of dedicated service and support.
