Ambitious about Autism is the national charity for children and young people with autism. We exist to make the ordinary possible for children and young people with autism. We work to provide more and better educational services, raise awareness and understanding of autism and campaign for change.
We are ambitious by nature and push the boundaries on behalf of all the children and young people with autism in the UK.
We have numerous departments in our charity including support services such as IT, Facilities, People Team, Finance Team and Service Development Team. We also have departments such as Fundraising, External Affairs and Strategy which have a wider focus.

Fundraising and External Affairs
Autism is seen as a hidden disability and is often misunderstood. We work to increase awareness and understanding of autism and to support children young people with autism effectively so they can learn thrive and achieve. We do this by working with the media across the UK to increase good quality coverage about autism and online via our website and social media. Our website provides parents, professionals and the public with a good source of up to date and accurate information on autism, how to seek support and ways to get involved in our work.
We are ambitious about making the ordinary possible for children and young people with autism but we can’t do this without our generous supporters and partners. We have created many high profile partnerships with businesses that are mutually beneficial, including TalkTalk and Rapha, and have long-term relationships with a range of charitable foundations. Our supporters can fundraise for us by giving a monthly gift, leaving a legacy, or taking part in one of our challenge events.

Ambitious about Autism is currently expanding to reach more children and young people with autism which means that growing, developing and supporting our workforce is more important than ever. The People Team are vital to executing Ambitious about Autism’s strategic plans successfully and ensuring the best outcome for our staff and ultimately our learners.
The People Team handles everything from recruitment, employee relations, payroll, HR systems to learning and development. We are constantly looking to improve these services and produce excellent staff, to provide the biggest impact for our learners.

Ambitious about Autism is a registered charity with an annual income of nearly 10 million a year. The charity sector is dependent on both the economy and politics, and can be acquired from numerous sources such as voluntary income, providing training to external companies as well as a combination of funding from Education Funding Agency and local authorities.
These factors makes for an exciting financial challenge in a dynamic environment where the outcome is not a big profit margin but instead changing the lives of many children and young people with autism.

Operations: IT and Facilities Teams
At Ambitious about Autism we are proud of our fantastic facilities and specialist equipment. All 3 of our sites were designed with our learners in mind.
With over 270 staff members in 3 different buildings in 3 locations, there is a lot to maintain and develop. The Facilities Team ensures that Ambitious about Autism runs smoothly so that our staff can work and children can learn in a fantastic and stimulating environment. The IT Team is responsible for our electronic systems which the school, college and charity rely on. The IT Facilities also plays a vital role in our learner’s education, as they become connected with the outside world and access vital e-learning software.
