Ambitious about Autism are excited to be working with Essex County Council, one of the largest and most dynamic local authorities in the UK, who are offering an 8-week paid internship for five young people with autism aged 18-24 who have achieved a minimum of 2 GCSE's (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade A*-C (or 4-9) or above in their Chelmsford or Basildon offices.

The roles will be within their:

  • Social Care and Education
  • Legal and Governance
  • Business Support

Roles will be paid at National Minimum Wage of £8.41 per hour (before tax). Travel and lunch will not be reimbursed. The roles are 27.5 hours – 37 hours per week. Although working hours and patterns can be flexible.

If you are successful in being chosen to take part in the internship you will be required to undertake security checks which will require a current passport, DBS check and proof of your whereabouts over the past 3 years.

Ambitious about Autism will provide you with support to meet your needs throughout the application and placement.
