What is Autistic Pride Day?
Autistic Pride Day is a celebration of the neurodiversity of people on the autism spectrum on 18 June each year. It celebrates what people with autism bring to the community and recognises their potential.
At Ambitious about Autism, we are ambitious for every child and young person with autism. We know that they can achieve incredible things with the right education and support.
We're proud to work with children and young people with autism and their families every day!
What are Ambitious about Autism doing to celebrate?
We're asking our youth council, youth volunteers and young people who access our services to tell us why they're proud to be autistic. We'll be sharing what they tell us on the day. This might be in the form of short video clips or posters and photos.
We'll also be sharing a video from staff at Ambitious about Autism about why they're proud to support people with autism.
Support Autistic Pride Day
This Autistic Pride Day we're asking everybody to get involved and share why they're proud to be autistic, to be a parent or carer to someone who is autistic, a friend or family member, or a professional who works with people with autism.
Let's make some noise this Autistic Pride Day.
Download our poster, print it off and write why you're proud to be autistic! Then share it on your social media using #AutisticPrideDay and don't forget to tag us using @AmbitiousAutism so we can share it too!
