Our partnership

We’re incredibly excited to be working with Marsh & McLennan, to transform the lives of young autistic children and young people in the UK. 

Over the next three years, we’ll galvanise almost 15,000+ UK colleagues to raise awareness of autism as a strength in the workplace. Together we’ll champion neurodiversity, inclusive workplaces and raise vital funds to support Employ Autism.  

Together we want to make employment possible for young people with autism.

We’re setting out with a bold mission to prove that ‘Great Mind’s Don’t Think Alike’ and show how thinking differently can benefit everyone.

During our first year, we’ll kick off the conversation around neurodiversity, inviting colleagues with lived experience to join the #GreatMinds conversation and celebrate key moments including World Autism Awareness Month. 

Employ Autism

Our partnership will support Employ Autism – our national employability programme to help successfully bridge the gap to employment for autistic young people. Throughout the programme and our partnership, we’ll inform colleagues, open up career paths, provide meaningful work experience placements and champion neurodiversity in the workplace. 

Objectives

During 2021, Marsh & McLennan will aim to:

• Educate and engage all 14,700+ UK colleagues
• Fundraise £200,000 
• Engage up to 25% of colleagues in virtual volunteering 
• Support the regional expansion of Employ Autism
• Begin their own journey to becoming a more autism confident employer.

Fundraising 

Our partnership is colleague-led, powered by a network of UK Charity Champions and supported by Inclusion and Diversity, HR, and Talent Acquisition leaders. Marsh & McLennan colleagues will raise invaluable funds which will be directed towards Employ Autism through UK-wide initiatives, events and personal challenges. We’ll be getting creative with virtual fundraising this year including quiz nights, scavenger hunts and much, much more. 

Strategic partnership

Marsh & McLennan has committed to become a more autism confident employer and industry leader in promoting and championing neurodiversity within the workplace. They will join our growing network of National Employ Autism partners, to offer careers advice, employability support and work placements to talented young autistic people across the UK. By promoting neurodiversity and inclusive workplaces, they will show that thinking differently can benefit everyone, enhance innovation and productivity. 

Volunteering 

Marsh & McLennan will share their skills and expertise by supporting volunteer initiatives and programmes across the UK, including Charity Champion ambassador work, TreeHouse Sapling projects, and strategically led pro bono opportunities. 

Learning 

Colleagues will transform the way they understand and support people with autism by learning more about neurodiversity, autism in the workplace, and the importance of celebrating diversity,ensuring inclusive and compassionate cultures. 

Together we will create a nationwide system change that will enable more autistic young people to enter the job market and fulfil their potential.
