Hi from Nianya

Mon 9 Mar 2009 5:53pm

Look forward to meeting you all. I'm taking my autistic 13yo on a school trip to Cape Canaveral Weds. 60+ middle schoolers and their chaperones; she doesn't do well with crowds, but is excited about possibly getting to see the Space Shuttle launch.

I will be twittering about our experience and posting photos on my site; probably won't have time to get into this site until next week.

E-mail me if you have any questions. Also have a 6yo autistic son on GFCF diet.

Hi Nianya, Welcome to the community and thanks for introducing yourself. That sounds like a really exciting holiday - do you have a plan for dealing with the crowds? It would be great if you could share your Twitter address so we can follow your experience - I've started a thread for people to share their Twitters - http://www.treehouse.org.uk/forums/autism/general-autism/463. Please come back and tell us all about it when you're back! Looking forward to reading your posts. Please note there is not a link to the community from the main part of this website (as we are not launching the comunity area publicly yet) so please bookmark or favourite the link : http://www.treehouse.org.uk/talk-autism All the best, Paula : )

Welcome to the boards.  I always found those trips to be fun.  Yes, preparation is important, but I found my son to always be wide-eyed.
