Hi from Tom and family

Mon 9 Mar 2009 7:02pm

Hi, I'm 53 with asperger syndrome. I have six children, three boys three girls; two of my boys almost certainly have AS, they are also dispraxic as am I. I am a full time single parent and a part time musician, and we live on a windy hillside in West Wales.

I think this forum will be very helpful to folks like us, and I congratulate the founders for their efforts.

I am on Facebook and would love to hear from both other aspergers and parents of asperger kids.

My Facebook group is at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=49681432621

Thanks and best of luck!

Tom Gray

    Hi Tom,

I'm so sorry I just realised when I was reading this back that I didn't include my name.  I'm Debby, and I'm in the UK, not far out of London.

I quite agree with you on the Dyspraxia and Autism making for an interesting life, it certainly does here!

    Look forward to chatting more

Crikey, I go to Cardigan almost every week! I live near Fishguard, at Trecwn. I'm actually from NZ but visited and stayed.

Oh God here comes that Captcha thing again, it thinks I'm a bloody spambot lol

    Hi Tom,

Nice to meet you!  You must be a busy man with all those kids to take care of!  I  am married to Kevin and have two children myself - Rachel aged 11 and Rory aged 6. Rory has autism, and the two of them like to keep me busy!

Looking forward to chatting to you.

Hi all, I really appreciate the messages and I hope we can all get to know each other better.

I think this site will make all of us feel much less isolated

See y'all on the social page!

    Hi Tom,

Nope, this is the first time I hear about that site.  And yes you are right, the time difference is a pain.  I have friends in Australia, and I have to wake quite early in the morning to catch them.

Hi Tom, just to let you know I am the Sandra who added you as a friend on Facebook a couple of day's ago. Sorry I've not got around to introducing myself up until now. You are doing a wonderful job raising your family and I know how hard it can be with 4 yet alone 6 and you're doing it single handedly too! I love your music by the way, I've listened to 'Saltwater' a few times now and it's definitely my kind of music, so looking forward to hearing more!

Hi Sandra, thanks for that. I never claimed to be 'Dad of the year' or anything but like most parents I just do my best. Oh and I'm half kid myself so happy to sit on the floor  and play with the lego lol.

Nice to meet you, and I hope we get to chat sometime soon.   :)
