I have an idea

Tue 30 Jan 2018 1:57pm

Hello everyone,

My son is 14 yo and on the autism spectrum, with speech delay.

Because of his limited communication skills, he finds it difficult to make friends, even if he loves people and is very sociable.

It is extremely difficult to make friends, and I know that he would love to meet and play with other children around his age. If there are patents who experience the same dilemma, please get in touch. If there are people who can give advice on the matter, it will bw much appreciated.

Hi my name is Jennifer and I have started a campaign to prevent local authorities from abusing their powers. My son Yakeem was informally excluded in 2012/13 by Whitefield Academy in Waltham Forest. A background to my story can be found here:

radio drama - a badge : written by tony pitts

Fri 17 Nov 2017 9:44am

A Badge

All Christine needs is a badge, so people understand she's not a bad mum, it's just her son is autistic.
All Chloe needs is sleep.
Daniel needs elephants.
And all they really need is love.
Michael narrates this drama about what it is like growing up with his brother Daniel.

What organisations are there within London that can help practically or with other forms of support. Guidelines and practical tips that would be useful for the home environment.

Did you know that autistic-like behaviours do not necessarily mean your child has autism?

under 2 year showing signs of autism

Tue 15 Aug 2017 8:49pm

Hi all, I have just started out as a childminder. I have took on a little boy aged 23 months his mother is Russian and father Polish. He has an elder half brother who lives with him and speaks fluent English. The little boy has no language in any of the languages he associates with. I also think he has sensory issues we were at the park and his trousers got a little wet and muddy and he was distraught. He is also extremely fussy with food as in complete refusal to try anything.
