under 2 year showing signs of autism

Hi all, I have just started out as a childminder. I have took on a little boy aged 23 months his mother is Russian and father Polish. He has an elder half brother who lives with him and speaks fluent English. The little boy has no language in any of the languages he associates with. I also think he has sensory issues we were at the park and his trousers got a little wet and muddy and he was distraught. He is also extremely fussy with food as in complete refusal to try anything.

...My only sibling, my sister Mererid, who’s 40 and a paediatric physiotherapist, has two children – Alby, aged ten, and Lenny, seven. They’re the most special people in my life. Alby is autistic which means he’s different, that’s all, and my best friend Sion also has an autistic nephew, Twm.

About two years ago we set up the charity Nai – the Welsh word for nephew – to help parents of autistic children.

Mererid’s such a Strictly fan that when I was on it in 2007 she used to dress Alby in a sparkly outfit to match mine each Saturday...

Books About Autism for 6yr Old

Wed 5 Jul 2017 7:31am

I'm looking for books that explain autism to autistic children. My son is six years old. Any recommendations?

Also resources for siblings will be useful too (although his brother is only three so not actively looking in to this yet).

Video links/recommendations would also be welcome.

Thanks x

Can you help me find friends?

Sat 17 Jun 2017 6:48pm

Hi, you guys probably won't even bother to read this.... but it's practically impossible for me to make new friends outside of the internet world okay? IMPOSSIBLE!!! I am just too shy/cautious, I am too stranger aware... and people just don't see me as a friendly person. They see me as something to ignore...
