Child exclusion

Fri 22 Apr 2016 11:00am

My child is on the verge of being excluded. he has been suspended from school for his behaviour and is on his final chance.

he is year 6 and i have just been given a draft EHC for 25 hours support

and yesterday was told that specialist provisions can be looked at.

however i have only found independant schools which may be suitable in my opinion.

this is going to county next week.

however in the mean time my child could be excluded at any point.

plus needs to be looking at somewhere now not next term.

I have been getting concerned about my youngest son for a while now. For those who don't know, I have a 10yo son who has a social communication disorder with traits of autism, we are currently waiting to see if he is on the spectrum or not. These are my concerns;

•The youngest one has never been given enough attention and very rarely our full attention. He has had several medical problems requiring hospital treatment and even then, the oldest one always seems to end of the primary concern.

What would you call this?

Fri 15 Apr 2016 1:57am

Okay . I basically would like an outside view and opinion of what you would call these type of obsessions of mine , while I am looking for a professional to talk too very soon. Though I suspect I have Aspergers but I feel I don't demonstrate the true prevalence of autistic trait. But anywho I been beating myself up mentally trying to figure why I do these things . I become obsessed with many things . When I was little I was obsessed with wine corks , rug creases , toy frogs and dinosaurs , and stuffed animals , and Legos , and books about magic , wooden ships, but as I become older.

Hi there,

My son, who is 7 years old and is Aspergers, has developed an issue around food/eating over the last couple of weeks. It was triggered by a crumb going down the wrong way, getting worried about choking, and has now developed into what appears to be some kind of eating disorder.

Is your child with autism presenting with ADHD symptoms?

Fri 11 Mar 2016 9:04pm

This is a National University of Ireland Galway study on AD/HD symptoms in children with Autism.

It would be great to hear from you even if your child does not have AD/HD symptoms as we can learn a lot about why some children have AD/HD and why others do not.

This study will help parents and researchers to understand Autism more.
