Hello

Wed 19 Aug 2009 9:59am

Hello all, I live in Medway, Kent & have 2 sons Dylan (who is 4 & recently been diagnosed with ASD) & Jake (who is 6 months).

Dylan has very delayed speech for his age although recently he has been speaking more but he is still very behind for his age which is causing us panic as he is starting mainstream school in September.  We hope he communicates his needs to his teachers like he does to us at home.

Hello

Sun 16 Aug 2009 9:35am
Hi everyone, my name is Sue, I am from Nottingham and i have 2 autistic sons. I have 4 children 2 very bright girls, my eldest goes to a private school because she gets a bursery. My second eldest got into the same school but unfortunately she didn't get a full bursery making it impossible for her to go. Then i have my 10 yr old boy who as autism, they thought it was less severe than it as turned out to be, he cannot read or write and finds social situations difficult.

Hi I'm Lia

Wed 12 Aug 2009 9:41am
Hi my name is Lia, i'm 19 and live in Wigan. I have aspergers and only got diagnosed when i was 17. Growing up was extremely difficult not knowing what was wrong with me and feeling like i was different from everyone else. I was put on Anti depressants because i was constantly frustrated with myself which turned into anger. I was bullied all through school because kids couldn't understand what was wrong or why i acted the way i did. I have o.c.d which is usually a part of aspergers, so this means i'm never late hehe and i'm a very organised person.

Hello everyone - I've just joined

Tue 11 Aug 2009 11:46pm

Hi,

My 23 year old autistic daughter Sian splits her time between living with me in Macclesfield and with her mum in Harlech, North Wales. She's a lovely girl, very happy with her life, and adored by everyone who gets to know her. She understands most of what she hears and reads, and she can speak remarkably well after many years of speech therapy, given that when she was younger it seemed as though she would never be able to speak at all. She can navigate on a PC using a mouse with support to guide her, but she can't write or use the keyboard.

Hello everyone.

Tue 11 Aug 2009 10:24pm

Hi all!  I'm AMP, I have 10 year old Asperger Son, he was diagnosed 5 years ago.

He is funny, charming, polite, frustrated, emotionally immature and I love him!

I'm a single Mum and generally quite happy.  My major meltdowns occur when I get frustrated with the "system" that appears not to care enough and support our children.

Smiles to you all.  God knows we all need them.

X

Hi from Carmen

Tue 11 Aug 2009 8:26am

Hello everyone

My name is Carmen, I am Mum to 3 little boys, aged 9, 8 & 3.  My 9 year old son Leo was diagnosed with PDD-NOS at the age of 6 and since then we have had no support or training given.  I have gained most of my information online and through some wonderful friends who have children with Aspergers and HF Autism.
