Hello

Thu 12 Mar 2009 3:27pm

I'm Georgina and I live in Suffolk i have 2 kids, my youngest (aged 10) has Autism and learning disabilities he is lovely but full of inventive ways to keep me busy! my oldest is a girl age 14 who has no problems- apart from being 14.

Our son goes to a local special school  which on the whole we like and he seems to be happy there. We spend a lot of time outdoors running off energy- swimming in the sea, walking the dog, bouncing on a trampoline,

look forward to sharing ideas with other parents

Hello from Jonelle

Hello everyone... thought i would take a few minutes to introduce myself and tell you all a bit about me while im at it.

Im a single mum of 3 kids.  My youngest has been diagnosed with high functioning autism, ADHD and dyslexia.  I am convinced that my middle child has aspergers but being a girl hides it well infront of other people.  I am also aspergers too.

Hi ya

Wed 11 Mar 2009 2:19pm

I'm Dean,

I live in Dorset with my partner and our 2 sons, both of which are on the Autistic spectrum.

Both boys went to main stream schools in Yeovil. It wasn't long before we realised (the schools or somerset  didn't) that the schools couldn't cope with them, they were being sent home early on a daily basis and the headmistress kept on trying to get us to go to parenting classes.

Hi from Lynne and family

Wed 11 Mar 2009 12:04am

Hi everyone,

My name is Lynne and I have two children, Rachel aged 11 and Rory 6.  They are both cheeky monkeys and like to keep me on my toes! Rory has autism and hypotonia (lax muscle tone).

We live in Scotland, and I really wish we had a school like treehouse here!!  Rory attends a special needs school here part time, and is home schooled part time on an ABA/VB program.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi I'm Nia!

Tue 10 Mar 2009 2:20pm

Hi I'm Nia and I'm TreeHouse's Press Officer. My job is to raise TreeHouse's profile so I'm really excited about this new website as it will mean that we can reach out to many more people and get them talking about autism and the many issues that surround this very complex condition. It's great to see so many of you on here already. If you have any questions regarding press and general PR at TreeHouse you can contact me via the media centre tab on the main TreeHouse website. Enjoy the site and I hope you all get a lot out of it!
