Holiday Club for Special Needs in London or in Essex

Mon 24 Jun 2019 2:44pm

I have searched through google, checked local council offers, called up Family Information Services and Disability Centre. I have also approached many holidays clubs but couldn't find any holiday club for 12 years old with special needs (learning difficulties). I am desprately looking for holiday club in east london or in essex mainly (near by Grays, Basildon, Upministor or Hornchurch). If anyone is aware of any facilities or club, I would appreciate your response here.

Mystery Christmas card received

Fri 22 Dec 2017 7:05pm

Hi everyone, a mysterious person has recently been sending the residents of our village Christmas cards, many of which have small sweets inside. It’s a nice gesture, but not knowing who it is is driving me crazy! (one of my Aspergers traits is fear of the unknown). Please help!

Thank you,

Trying to work out anxiety about demands

Sun 17 Sep 2017 11:13am

Hello! I am trying to work out why I get so anxious about demands and I am really interested to hear from anyone else about their own experiences of this.

I get panic attacks and anxiety about demands. I want to give an example because 'demands' means weird things to me.

"My name is Conor and I am an Assistant Producer at the TV company RDF Television (Secret Life of 4 Year Olds, Eat Well For Less?)

We are currently producing a new series for BBC2 about robots designed to help people in their day to day lives. One specific robot is designed to help children on the autistic spectrum improve their cognitive development.

A Thought About "Labels" And How To Help People With Autism (And Others)

Mon 13 Mar 2017 2:33pm

I find the human tendency to label and categorize things interesting---the labeling and categorization of other people specifically. Sometimes it's practical---we do it naturally, subconsciously or consciously, all the time; it helps us to make sense of and create order and comfort in our lives. But it can also be lazy and unnecessary, and detrimental to others.

Hi..I haven't logged on in years (literally) so i wanted to say hi to all my old friends and no to all the new ones I haven't met.

I have two boys. Eldest has a diagnosis of asd and we are currently having a screening for dyspraxia.
I've been out of touch for quite a while as have had 3 years of fighting to get my son into the right educational setting. He has been in now for a year and it's going well. X
