Are you passionate about providing information to families and professionals involved in supporting children and young people with autism? Do you have experience of providing written and face to face information about a range of education, health and social care needs for those with special educational needs? If so, you may be the person we are looking for to join our External Affairs Team at Ambitious about Autism.
We are Ambitious about Autism - the national charity for children and young people with autism. We provide services, raise awareness and understanding and campaign for change. Through TreeHouse School and Ambitious College we offer specialist education and support. Founded in 1997, our vision is simple; to make the ordinary possible for children and young people with autism. We’re an ambitious and innovative organisation at a particularly exciting stage of growth.
We are looking to recruit a Family Support Officer to work in our External Affairs Team. The role will support the development, delivery and evaluation of an integrated family support service for families of children and young people with autism both across Ambitious about Autism, the Autism Schools Trust and the wider national online community. The Family Support Officer will deliver events and training on a wide range of topics, including how to access education, health, and social care services.
The role will involve developing and updating website resources, answering external and internal phone and email enquiries and providing face to face training and support to families. The post holder will work closely with the Head of Participation and Engagement, by providing administrative support to the Team and other resources for families and carers across the schools and colleges run by Ambitious about Autism.
