About the team
The Experience Designer role sits within the Public Sector Market Unit, supporting digital contracts and commercial services. You will work alongside experienced designers, analysts, developers, and HMRC teams to help design digital services that are clear, accessible, and easy to use.
As part of the team you will have access to support, hands‑on experience on a live digital contract, with clear structure, mentoring, and reasonable adjustments (as needed).

The Experience Designer supports the design of user‑centered digital services by helping understand user needs and contributing to design work that improves usability, accessibility, and clarity. The role supports our client’s wider digital transformation by helping ensure digital contract services meet user needs and accessibility standards.

Skills required for the role
Essential
- interest in user-centered and inclusive design
- good attention to detail
- clear written and verbal communication skills
- logical and organised approach to work
- willingness to learn design tools and methods.
Desirable (not required)
- design experience from education, work, or personal projects
- interest in accessibility or designing for diverse users
- awareness of digital or public sector services.

Recruitment process
- Complete the registration form. This will be listed on the opportunity page.
- Complete the Capgemini application form and upload your CV. Details on how to do this will be sent to you by the Employ Autism team.
- Applications will be shared with the line manager to review and shortlist.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview. You will be provided with an interview pack which includes information about who will be interviewing you, the interview questions and details on the interview task you will need to complete.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete Baseline Security Clearance as part of the onboarding. This includes and identify check, right to work check, employment history check, criminal record check and proof of where you have lived over the past 3 years. The Employ Autism team will be available to assist you with completing these checks. Support during the application process
The Employ Autism team can provide additional application support for autistic young people aged 18-25 years old. If would like to discuss your suitability to the role prior to completing your application, please specify this in your initial email to our team.
