This introductory module is a perfect starting point for anyone wanting to learn more about autism in a work setting.

Training objectives: 

  • what autism is  
  • the four areas of autistic difference
  • individuality of autistic experience, talents, and skill sets
  • the potential challenges that autistic people face in the workplace   
  • how we can make workplaces more inclusive to help autistic people thrive.   

This module builds on the fundamentals and is aimed at anyone with a role in recruitment or hiring activities and focusses on how organisations can adopt approaches to improve their attraction and retention of autistic talent.

  • recruiting autistic talent   
  • reasonable adjustments   
  • disclosure   
  • putting supportive structure in place   
  • adapting communication and interaction   
  • sensory adaptations   
  • supportive new starter processes   
  • buddies, mentors and coaching   
  • managing competing reasonable adjustments   
  • supporting autistic wellbeing at work.  

This module explores how HR practitioners can adopt inclusive policy and process to better support autistic colleagues.

Training objectives 

This module covers HR's role in:  

  • driving lasting change in the organisational culture  
  • guiding line managers on process and practise when autistic people are involved  
  • navigating difficult and sensitive conversations that involve autistic people.
