At Ambitious about Autism, we want our work to be led by and for autistic young people. Our participation team champions the views and opinions of young autistic people and enables them to take on projects that bring about positive change for themselves and their peers.
We work with autistic young people aged 16-25 who are interested in making a difference to the world around them.
Why is youth participation important?
Youth engagement is important to us because we believe that better decisions are made, and better outcomes are achieved when people are involved in decisions made about their lives.
The participation team is here to listen and respond to autistic young people and we exist to support them to make their views and opinions heard.
Youth-led opportunities at Ambitious about Autism comprise of:
- the Ambitious about Autism Youth Council
- the Ambitious Youth Network
- youth consultancy
- writing blogs and sharing stories.
Are you looking for advice or casework?
Our participation team offer young people opportunities to have their voices heard and to change things for the better. The team do not offer key-working, family support, advice or casework, but you can find out lots of information across our website, including content written by, and for young people with autism.
