Ambitious College

Ambitious College

Ambitious College, set up by Ambitious about Autism with assistance from our partner Pears Foundation, provides specialist and integrated further education and support to young people from across London and the Home Counties.

Co-located model

Ambitious College's two campuses are co-located within mainstream further education colleges: The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London (CONEL) and West Thames College.

This enables young people to access learning, social, employment and leisure opportunities alongside their mainstream peers, whilst receiving the specialist support they need.

Curriculum

The college is dedicated to enabling learners to gain vocational, life and employability skills, as well as work experience. Its curriculum is framed around the four themes in the Preparing for Adulthood agenda:

  • employment
  • independent living
  • better health
  • friends, relationships and community.

Expert team

The college has a trans-disciplinary team who work together to ensure the learner is the central focus at all times. Our staff team is made up of a range of professionals including qualified teachers, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, behaviour analysts, employment specialists and specialist support staff.

Testimonials

"To be honest, I don't think there's anywhere else for my son where he would be so well looked after with such determination and energy for improvement, along with a huge emphasis on fun and a keen eye to the lives of parents/carers and how they can also be improved."

Parent

"Learners are taught to be proud of who they are and what they have achieved and to socialise with their peers, even if it does not always happen as planned."
