We've been providing specialist education for children with autism since 1997. Founded by a formidable group of parents, the Ofsted 'outstanding' TreeHouse school in North London was the inspiration behind Ambitious about Autism. Now joined by Ambitious College, we provide education and support for children and young people from age 3-25.
TreeHouse School is a happy and vibrant community where children and young people with autism learn and flourish. Currently we have over 90 pupils on roll with our youngest pupils being 4 and our oldest being 19 years old. TreeHouse School provides children with the specialist, intensive and integrated support to enable them to learn, thrive and achieve.
All pupils who attend TreeHouse School have a diagnosis of autism and have TreeHouse School named in their statement or Education, Health and Care Plan. The school was inspected by Ofsted in 2012 and found to be outstanding in all areas.
There are more than 140 members of staff at the TreeHouse School including qualified teachers, behaviour professionals, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists.
Ambitious College is a specialist further education provision for learners with complex autism which provides specialist support to enable young people with autism to access further education in their local community. The aim of the College is to enable its learners to gain the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to make a successful transition to adulthood and to live, work and contribute as part of their community.
The college is located at Pears Campus at College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London and Pears Campus, West London College.
Ambitious College provides its learners with a specialist curriculum that meets their needs and interests. It is delivered by highly skilled and experienced staff, and provides opportunities to learn locally through a range of partnerships with local employers, services and our mainstream college partners.
The Autism Schools Trust
The Autism Schools Trust was established in December 2012 as a ground-breaking collaboration between Ambitious about Autism and Dimensions, a not-for-profit specialist provider of a wide range of support services for people who experience autism and people with learning disabilities.
It is a multi-academy trust that supports the development of new special schools to enable children and young people with autism to learn and succeed.
Our shared vision is for social and academic inclusion from as early an age as possible for our pupils with autism. We know that children and young people with autism can then make a successful transition to adult life with the right opportunity and support. Our schools are designed to be inspirational and transformational, with a broad and challenging curriculum in an environment of high expectations and close individual focus.
Our first school, The Rise School in west London, opened in September 2014.
