Ambitious Youth Network
What is the Ambitious Youth Network?
The Ambitious Youth Network is an online platform, currently on Basecamp that connects young people aged 16-25 with other autistic young people on the network, Ambitious about Autism youth patrons and young people involved with the Autism Education Trust.
What happens on the Ambitious Youth Network?
The Ambitious Youth Network is a place to talk to other autistic young people, find out about employment opportunities for autistic young people and keep up to date with all the opportunities shared exclusively through the Ambitious Youth Network.
How does it work?
Ambitious Youth Network members can post on the message board on Basecamp if they have something specific that they want to share with other network members. Ambitious about Autism staff share opportunities on the message board which include employment vacancies, focus groups and events and consultations.
The Ambitious Youth Network is moderated by the participation team at Ambitious about Autism to ensure that the network is a safe place for autistic young people.
Who is part of the network?
There are some additional members of the Ambitious about Autism team who are also part of the Ambitious Youth Network:
- our media team are present for sharing press opportunities
- our paid work experience team share upcoming work experience opportunities and guidance around job roles.
What we want the Youth Network to be
We want to expand what happens on the Ambitious Youth Network to enable more autistic young people to have greater opportunities which support their needs and talk to people who might have similar experiences to them.
The Ambitious Youth Network is part of a project to reduce loneliness in autistic young people by connecting them to others with shared interests.
How do I join the Ambitious Youth Network?
Anyone who is autistic and aged between 14-25 can join the Ambitious Youth Network.
Recruitment and applications for the Youth Network are open year-round. To join you just need to fill in the application form and email your completed form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
